Just last year, the interage technology program was created as a small Student Service Learning activity no one knew about. I remember that on the first day, there were a few curious seniors who came to the Ring House library. The students from the C&T Academy were also very nervous, not really sure what to do. However, seniors learned to depend on the students over time as they learned how to use modern technology. Today, it is a popular activity thats draws many seniors from the Ring House and volunteers from the C&T Academy.
When students first tried to help the seniors understand technology, many became frustrated as seniors almost immediately forgot what they were taught. However, students remembered Mrs. Teng's 3 P's, be polite, be patient, and be professional.
Seniors were not the only ones who benefited, as students also discovered and learned about little-known software that they did not previously know even existed. Also, they developed maturity as they learned to conceal negative emotions.
