OUR HISTORY
C & T values education through experience, independence, student ownership and responsibility. In addition to helping students improve their academic education, C & T prepares students to better serve their community and country as community-oriented, responsible, successful adults.
Since 2009, C & T has offered a robust curriculum for after-school enrichment. These have included a Chinese language program, a Math program, English reading and writing courses, test preparation, and public speaking and debate. All programs are taught by professional educators who bring a unique perspective to the classroom. Classes reach beyond basic academics and encourage students to take ownership of their education and success.
C & T recognizes community leadership as an invaluable tool in the education process, and in summer of 2009 launched the Young Building Bridges (YBB) program. This intensive and immersive summer program partners with the Aixin Foundation, and Building Bridges Program of Yale University . Through YBB, American high school students have - for the last ten summers - had the opportunity to travel and interact with university students from China; together they traveled into rural areas of China to teach, learn and become part of a global community.
C&T Youth Technology Academy began in 2005 as a small, after-school class to teach elementary and middle school students lessons in computer language, programming and web design. The family-operated classes offered what other private learning centers did not: the opportunity for students to practice real-world skills to complement a standard education. Classes quickly grew, and the family of administrators recognized an interest from parents to build a private youth learning center offering a wide range of study, from creative writing to math to community service and life-skills learning.
